Ukraine’s entire history of participation in the Olympic Games was the smallest delegation of athletes. In this composition, the athletes chose 1 gold medal, 6 silver, and 12 bronze medals. Also, two athletes managed to win the Olympic medal twice — swimmer Mykhaylo Romanchuk and canoeist Anastasia Luzan.
Medals of Ukrainian athletes for the Olympics 2020:
- Gold — greco-roman wrestling;
- Silver — swimming, greco-roman wrestling, karate, paddling, boxing, cycling;
- Bronze — judo, fencing, swimming, tennis, 2 medals in women's wrestling, artistic swimming, 2 medals in paddleboarding (individual athlete and a team of synchronized swimmers), karate, high jump.
Also, the Ukrainians entered the top five winners:
Fourth place — hammer throw, high jump, keirin, 2 shooting athletes;
Fifth place — 400-meter hurdles, high jumping, pole vaulting, judo, weightlifting, Greco-Roman wrestling.
Ukraine's success in the 2020 Games is similar to the results of 2012. Then Ukraine also won 19 medals, 5 of which were gold.
Since 1996, Ukrainian athletes have grafted the following awards:
- 1996: 9 gold, 2 silver, 12 bronze - 23 medals
- 2000: 3 gold, 10 silver, 10 bronze - 23 medals
- 2004: 8 gold, 5 silver, 9 bronze - 22 medals
