Bohdan Dukhnytskyi, a leading researcher at the Institute of Agrarian Economics, highlighted that EU member states continued to be the primary source of these imports. Exports from the EU to Ukraine rose by 9% to $3.7 billion, with the EU's contribution surpassing half of Ukraine's total food imports for the fifth consecutive year, accounting for over 51%. Agricultural imports from Asian countries totaled $1,365 million (19%), followed by Latin America with $511 million (7.2%), and Africa at $326 million (4.6%). Poland remained Ukraine's top agricultural product supplier since 2017, with sales reaching $950 million in 2023, up from $881 million in 2022. This robust import activity in 2023 underscores Ukraine's resilience and adaptive business environment, even in the face of Russia's full-scale aggression.
