Ukraine’s Expectations From the EU Summit in Kyiv

Joining SEPA and single European roaming, plus an industrial visa-free regime

The 24th summit of the European Union will be held in Kyiv in just 2 days. Ukraine is preparing for it with maximum intensity because already this year it expects to start preliminary negotiations on Ukraine's accession to the EU. As Denys Shmyhal reported, on February 3, Ukraine, in a team with EU representatives, plans to form a road map of an effective European path.

"The fact that this summit will be held in Kyiv is a powerful signal to both partners and enemies. To partners, that Europe believes in the victory of Ukraine and supports our rapid movement towards joining the EU. To the enemies, this is a signal about the futility of their efforts to bring discord into the coalition supporting Ukraine and stop our Euro-Atlantic integration," Denys Shmyhal.

A separate request of Ukraine already now is the accession of Ukraine to the economic and customs space of the EU: export of Ukrainian goods to European markets without duties and quotas, inclusion in the roaming space and integration with SEPA.

Tomorrow, February 2, representatives of Ukraine and the European Commission will hold preliminary negotiations regarding the summit.
