On January 19, in Davos, Canadian finance minister Chrystia Freeland said that aid to Ukraine benefits not only Ukrainians but also all democratic countries.
"Providing Ukraine with weapons, as well as [...] providing Ukraine with the funds it needs to win the war, is ultimately in our own interests," Chrystia Freeland.
In her address to the G7, Freeland emphasised that Ukraine's victory will be a boost for the world economy, which has faltered due to Russian aggression.
"One aspect over which we have effective control is the ability to help Ukraine win clearly, decisively. If we do this, if it happens this year, the global economy will receive a significant boost," the minister added.
A day before the conference in Davos, Chrystia Freeland, a candidate for the post of the next NATO Secretary General, was in Kyiv.
