Ukrainian Banks Increased Profits by 47% in 2021

In January-October, banks cut costs by 6% to $5.9 billion

The net profit of Ukrainian banks in 2021 increased to $58.4 billion, i.e., by 47% compared to last year. During the 10 months of 2021, bank revenues increased by 4% to $8.08 billion; costs decreased by 6% to $5.9 billion.

Net profit:

  • In 2020, Ukrainian banks received $1.53 billion in net profit, which is 29% less than in 2019;
  • Net profit of Ukrainian banks for the winter of 2021 decreased by 59.1% compared to the same period last year;
  • In the first half of 2021, solvent banks received 26% more net income than in the same period in 2020;
  • In January-August 2021, solvent banks received 40% more than in the same period last year;
  • According to the NBU, in January-September 2021, solvent banks received 37% more income than in the same period last year.
