Ukrainian Diplomas Recognised in Romania

Intergovernmental agreement on mutual recognition of educational documents between Ukraine and Romania

Prime minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal announced that he signed a document with Romania that would allow Ukrainians to work in Romania officially and vice versa. The agreement was signed during the personal visit of the Ukrainian politician to Bucharest.

The same documents will now be needed for employment in a neighbouring state as in the homeland. That is, it will be enough for a Ukrainian or a Romanian to have a higher education diploma. The agreement says that the availability of a document on higher education will allow refugees from Ukraine to work in their speciality in all cities of Romania. Note that currently, the Balkan peninsula hides from the Russian full-scale invasion of about 110.000 citizens of Ukraine.

Despite signing joint recognition of documents on higher education, the Romanian authorities leave monthly aid for Ukrainians. Citizens of Ukraine can get it by having documents proving that a person continues to receive education in Romania or is officially employed.
