Energyatom and Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB signed an agreement under which WES would license nuclear fuel to Rivne nuclear power plant.
The contract provides for the supply of 1,056 fuel assemblies. The first batch of 12 will be installed on Rivne NPP power unit 2 in 2024.
Energyatom head Peter Kotin considers the signing of an agreement with Westinghouse Electric Sweden AB "an important step towards diversifying the sources of nuclear fuel supply to Ukrainian nuclear power plants".
Today, Westinghouse provides nuclear fuel to 6 units of Ukrainian NPP. Further deliveries will be increased.
