The Ukrainian film directed by Philip Sotnychenko became a nominee for the FIPRESCI prize at the European Film Awards. On December 9, 2023, the jury will make a final decision on the motion picture. Winners will be announced at the 36th awards ceremony EFA in Berlin. However, the director already considers the shortlist an achievement.
"Being nominated for an EFA was a pleasant surprise for me. They say it's very important. So I am grateful to my team for the work done," Sotnychenko.
La Palisiada is a film about the investigation of the murder of the 90s in Ukraine. The main ones in the film are a police officer and a forensic psychiatrist. La Palisiada becomes interesting because the director added a line of love and the theme of introducing a moratorium on the death penalty. On January 11, 2024, the film will be seen in Ukraine for the first time. However, La Palisiada has already been shown at the 52nd Rotterdam Film Festival, received an award from the Vilnius Film Festival and the Polish Ukraina Festiwal Filmow.
