Co-founder of the Honey Exchange Harry Remfert noted: “Moreover, the largest player in the EU market — China — is now “squeezed ”, which leads to a natural increase in prices,” he adds.
If the forecast for fees justifies itself, then the price of honey will decrease due to market saturation.
“However, we think that elite varieties will keep the price, because the demand for them is always high, and the supply on the Ukrainian market is limited,” notes the founder of the Honey Exchange.
In matters of honey production, Ukraine occupies a significant place, because production and packaging in Ukraine are much cheaper. Therefore, the volume of production of honey, beekeeping products will grow unambiguously, he explains.
Harry Remfert also noted the prospect of changing quotas for the export of Ukrainian honey to the EU countries, since the quality of honey in Ukraine is growing
every day and the close partnership with the EU is becoming even stronger.
“Taking into account the position of Chinese products on the EU market, this is quite realistic in the near future. If we make the forecast further, the quotas will be increased up to the complete exemption of honey from Ukraine from customs duties,” said the founder of the Honey Exchange.
