Ukrainian Photographer Nomeneed on “Prix Pictet”

On July 6, the list of finalists of the photographer of the 2023 contest Prix Pictet, which draws attention to the issues of sustainable development of the world, includes a photographer from Ukraine – Gera Artemova. The theme of this year's photography contest was Man. Participants of the competition had to capture human experiences, relationships, problems, and victories in the photo, which determine the vector of existence for all mankind.

Gera Artemova presented her photographs in War Diary. The series consists of paired photos: one photo is dedicated to evacuation, the second photo – to returning home. The photographer used her story of experiencing a full-scale Russian invasion of Ukraine. Artemova, at the time of the Russian offensive on Kyiv, lived in another region. This was reflected in a series of photographs.

Ukrainian photographers became part of the nominees from 11 countries. It claims the international prize Prix Pictet 2023, and the main award is $107.400.
