Ukrainian Satellite Ready to be Sent to the USA

Satellite parameters meet all technical requirements. The device is designed for the civil needs of Ukraine

The Ukrainian satellite for Earth remote sensing Sich-2-30, manufactured by the specialists of the subsidiary enterprise Yuzhnoye has successfully passed all the planned tests and is ready to be sent to the launch base at Cape Canaveral (Florida, USA).

The satellite was manufactured in Dnepropetrovsk within the National space program of Ukraine framework by the Yuzhnoye design bureau.

Sending from Dnipro to the USA will take place in the coming days. According to him, the employees and specialists worked without deviations from the schedule. All the satellite parameters meet the technical requirements.

In the United States, work will be carried out to prepare the satellite for launch and its docking with the launch vehicle. The launch of the satellite is scheduled for January 10, 2022.

About Sich-2-30

As a reminder, the Sich-2-30 spacecraft should become the first of the planned project of the Space program for 2021-2025 of the orbital constellation of Ukrainian satellites.

This satellite is designed to obtain digital images of the Earth's surface in the visible and near-infrared ranges of electromagnetic waves and monitor the parameters of the Earth's magnetosphere. It has a resolution of 7.8 m (per pixel) with a covered band of 46.6 km.

Sich-2-30 "was initially planned to be put into orbit in December this year using the American Falcon-9 launch vehicle. However, SpaceX has postponed the launch until next year.
