Ukrainian Table Eggs Approved for Export to Canada

Ukraine has officially expanded its egg export market to Canada, following the approval of an international veterinary certificate by the State Service for Food Safety and Consumer Protection

This move comes as Ukrainian chicken eggs continue to be one of the fastest-growing segments of the country’s agricultural exports. In 2024, Ukraine exported approximately 1.239 billion eggs, marking a 58.1% increase in volume compared to 2023. However, revenue rose more modestly—by 22% to $72.8 million, reflecting a decline in average export prices.

In just the first quarter of 2025, Ukraine exported 496 million eggs, double the amount recorded in the same period last year.

Currently, the largest importers of Ukrainian eggs are Poland, Germany, Italy, and Israel. With access to the Canadian market, Ukrainian producers now have an opportunity to further diversify exports and strengthen their position in global food supply chains.

This development also aligns with Ukraine’s broader strategy to expand agro-industrial exports, particularly amid growing demand for affordable and reliable food sources worldwide.
