In December 2022, a world map without the Russian Federation was seen in Budanov's office. On the wall in the chief of intelligence office, modern Russia's areas were divided with a black marker. According to the map, Belgorod, Kursk, and Kuban region, will belong to the independent Ukraine. Kaliningrad region is entirely legitimate, based on history, and belongs to Germany. In Karelia and the northwest, Finland is written in the central areas and some regions of Siberia – "Central African Republic". Budanov also divided the territory of the Caucasus and wrote "Ichkeria." The Far East to China and the Kuril islands to Japan. Ukrainians and people who support the country liked this map. On July 23, the original map became available to buy.
The charitable foundation of Ukrainian showman and volunteer Serhii Prytula held an auction where he sold the map to Mr Mikhailo (the fund does not provide detailed information about the buyer), who made the largest bet – $379.007 – and won. All funds will be spent for the benefit of the Ukrainian army. Almost $380.000 from the auction will be transferred to purchase 5 EOS C VTOL drone systems for assault special forces. To close the fundraising more $3.2 million is needed.
