The all-Ukrainian network of hypermarkets Epicenter reports that Ukrainians have begun to buy equipment with built-in batteries massively. This resulted from Russian attacks on Ukraine's centralised power grid, forcing Ukrainians to sit in the dark and cold. The change in consumer demands was reflected in small items and large household appliances: refrigerators, air conditioners, portable speakers, washing machines, electric ovens, and so on.
"The willingness of Ukrainians to spend money on the purchase of household appliances and electronics may indicate an improvement in consumer sentiment, faith in the Armed Forces and the future prospects of the country, even despite the ongoing hostilities," head of the Epicenter network Oleksandr Velichko.
Compared to last year, the demand for goods independent of Ukraine's centralised energy system has grown almost 2.5 times.
