Ukrgazvydobuvannya Sets Record for Production from New Wells in 2023

Ukrgazvydobuvannya, a subsidiary of Naftogaz, achieved a historic milestone in 2023 by extracting over 1 billion cubic meters of gas from newly commissioned wells within a year, as reported by Naftogaz’s press service.

In 2023, the company successfully commenced operations of 86 new drilling wells, with 24 of them boasting an initial flow rate exceeding 100,000 cubic meters per day. This marks the highest record in over two decades. Notably, the most productive well, launched in April 2023, has an impressive output of 580,000 cubic meters per day.

These remarkable results were made possible through the utilization of advanced technical capabilities on older, depleted fields, which had previously inaccessible layers, as well as the vigorous drilling of new deposits and infrastructure modernization.

Reflecting on the broader picture, Ukraine's gas production in 2023 surpassed 18.7 billion cubic meters, indicating a 0.9% increase from the previous year. This achievement underlines Ukrgazvydobuvannya's significant contribution to the nation's energy sector and its commitment to enhancing production capabilities.
