From February 11 to February 14, 867.000 tons of grain were transshipped through the sea terminals of Ukraine for delivery to different parts of the world. This number is divided into wheat (170.000 tons), barley (54.000 tons), corn (643.000 tons).
According to the Ministry of agrarian policy of Ukraine, the wheat harvest in the first half of the 2021/2022 season is 32.5 million tons. Ukrainians consume only 9 million tons, the rest is for export.
February 2022 opened the following export indicators:
- Tons of wheat — 548.000;
- Tons of barley — 98.000;
- Tons of corn — 2.25 million.
“Now there are no obstacles to the export of grain from Ukraine, despite alarming reports of a possible blockade of Ukrainian ports. According to market operators, shipments are taking place as usual, there is no downtime or delay in shipments,” Roman Leshchenko, minister of agrarian policy.
