The United States Agency for International Development (USAID) has introduced a new initiative under its “Competitive Economy of Ukraine” program to bolster Ukrainian businesses during the ongoing war

This partnership agreement offers Ukrainian enterprises the opportunity to receive equipment and marketing services to enhance their competitiveness and operational capacity. Applications for this support are open until the end of April 2024, as announced on USAID's Facebook page.

To qualify, businesses are required to commit to creating job opportunities and increasing their sales. The selection of equipment or services will be at the discretion of the participating companies.

Eligibility Criteria for Partner Companies:

  • Must have a minimum of ten employees at the time of application
  • Capable of investing in their own development
  • Committed to creating 20 jobs and generating $1.5 million in sales under the partnership agreement

USAID encourages businesses not to wait until the deadline and to submit their applications promptly, as they will be reviewed immediately upon receipt.

Additional Opportunities for Ukrainian Businesses

In a related development, Google has launched three free educational programs aimed at supporting Ukrainian businesses. These initiatives are focused on scaling operations, enhancing competitiveness, and safeguarding companies against cyber threats.

Despite the challenging circumstances, approximately 15% of Ukrainian enterprises are currently operating at full capacity, marking a significant improvement from the previous year, where only 6% managed to achieve peak functionality. This new program by USAID represents a vital lifeline for Ukrainian businesses striving to navigate the complexities of wartime operation and contribute to the resilience and recovery of the nation's economy.
