Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, participated in a security conference where the necessity for a new global security architecture was a primary focus. The conference, dedicated to the ninth point of President Volodymyr Zelensky's Peace Formula—"Preventing the escalation of war and repetition of aggression"—brought together representatives from 66 countries and international organizations.
This event was the fourth in a series aimed at developing proposals for the upcoming second Peace Summit. Ukrainian participants included Deputy Head of the Office of the President Ihor Zhovkva, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Yevhen Perebyinis, Deputy Minister of Defense for European Integration Serhiy Boyev, and advisors Daria Zarivna and Oleksandr Bevz.
Yermak highlighted that the current global security framework has failed to deter enemy aggression, underscoring the urgent need for a revamped system rooted in international law and strengthened by Ukraine's own defense capabilities.
"This system should encompass not only the military component but also sanctions, financial support, investment, and extensive cooperation in various fields," Yermak stated.
In this context, attracting international investment becomes crucial. Opportunities in sectors such as defense, technology, and infrastructure are essential for enhancing Ukraine's security and economic resilience. Engaging with global partners can facilitate the development of advanced security solutions and bolster the nation's strategic position.
For investors seeking to explore these opportunities, Ukraine offers a dynamic environment for impactful contributions to its security sector.
Deputy Head Ihor Zhovkva reported that 32 countries have already joined the G7 Joint Declaration of 2023 on security guarantees for Ukraine, signaling robust international support.
Timothy Barrow, National Security Advisor to the Prime Minister of Great Britain, emphasized the importance of aiding Ukraine in achieving a just peace and crafting mechanisms to prevent future aggression. The United Kingdom acts as a co-leader of the ninth point of the Peace Formula and was the first country with which Ukraine concluded an agreement on security cooperation.
The conference concluded with the adoption of a Joint Communiqué, reflecting a unified vision to prevent the escalation of conflicts. Participants reaffirmed that Ukraine is progressing toward full Euro-Atlantic integration, exercising its sovereign right to determine its security alliances.
