On May 19, the annual G7 summit kicked off in Japan, which is attended by G7 member countries and representatives of the European Union — Ursula von der Leyen and Charles Michel.
On May 20, president Zelenskyy arrived in Hiroshima as a guest of honour and held a series of pre-summit meetings with the leaders of Italy, Britain, France, India, and the EU. There was also a meeting with Chancellor Schulz, who spoke very warmly about the Ukrainian people at the presentation of the Orde de Carlemany.
“There was also a meeting with Mr Scholz, Chancellor of Germany. There was also a meeting with the chancellor of Germany, Scholz. We discussed with Olaf how we can speed up a fair peace for Ukraine and how we can strengthen our joint work within the G7,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
Today, for the first time in its history, Ukraine is participating in the G7.
