The White House reported that the 46th president of the United States had requested additional funding from parliament for war-torn countries. According to Biden, extra money is needed for humanitarian and economic assistance. The head of the United States wants to transfer $8.5 billion of humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The total amount requested is $40 billion, of which:
- $12 billion for disaster relief;
- $4 billion for border security;
- $24 billion for any needs of other countries.
Biden wants to allocate $13.1 billion from $24 billion for military support to Kyiv. If parliament approves the request, Ukraine will receive additional funds to replenish weapons and ammunition.
Ukraine may receive these sums before the first quarter 2024. American politicians intend to keep promises and continue to provide any form of support to Ukraine until it defeats the invader. During the full-scale war, the Biden administration allocated more than $40 billion to the Ukrainian army.
