The IAEA announces the rotation of its teams at 3 nuclear power plants in Ukraine: Rivne, Khmelnytsky and South Ukrainian. This is the 9th IAEA team as of September 9, 2022, and these missions are expected to be permanent. However, the number of these teams does not meet the requirements: only 3 employees can be located in the vast territories of the stations. The nuclear mission reports that expert teams were sent in response to a request from Ukraine. Earlier, IAEA experts also examined several points at the occupied Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant. However, the Russians do not allow the monitoring team to all the necessary locations on the station.
Thus, the IAEA doesn't guarantee the nuclear safety of Ukraine, although it recognises the level of danger created by the Russian army.
