Within the framework of the EU-Ukraine Association Council in Brussels, prime minister Denys Shmyhal stated about the damage Russia has caused to Ukraine by the war.
"$326 billion are direct "physical" losses that the government of Ukraine was able to verify — together with experts from the World Bank. $105 billion of this amount will need to be spent on restoring what has been destroyed," Denys Shmyhal.
This amount does not include the destruction of Mariupol since only charred ruins remained of this city. It will take a long time to calculate the damage from the destruction of an entire metropolis.
