"As of the end of 2020, 362 Ukrainian producers of livestock products have undergone verification procedures and received the right to export products of animal origin to the EU, of which - 155 producers of food products of animal origin", — the report says.
It is indicated that the export of Ukrainian agricultural products to the European Union is increasing, more and more Ukrainian producers feel the benefits of a free trade zone with the EU. It is also pointed out that Ukrainian agricultural sector provides 12% of GDP and about 40% of foreign exchange earnings from exports.
As Ukrinform reported, Ukraine in 2020 increased the export of vegetable and animal fats origin by 22% and remained in first place among the exporters of sunflower oil to the European Union. The main products of Ukrainian exports are grains, fats and oils of animal or vegetable origin; seeds and fruits of oil-bearing plants; food industry residues and wastes; meat and edible by-products.
Overall, exports of Ukrainian agricultural products to the EU in 2020 decreased by 10.8% compared to 2019. At the same time, Ukraine closed 11 quotas for duty-free exports to the EU.
