$40 Mln Investment in Modernization of Chornomorsk Seaport

The Administration of the seaports of Ukraine and JV "Risoil Terminal" concluded an agreement on the development of the Black Sea seaport. It provides for the construction of new berths and deepening of the bottom to accept multi-tonnage vessels

"This project has been discussed for 13 years and finally we can say that it will be realized. And it means $40 mln of direct investments, more export opportunities for Ukrainian producers, and new jobs. Thanks to the signed agreement, both the state and the investor have guarantees and clearly defined obligations", said minister of infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov.

Ukraine will have one more two-sided berth, capable of receiving and qualitative processing of large-capacity vessels, which are vital for our agro-export.

Under the contract, the company "Risoil" will build a double-sided pier at the junction of berths 10 and 11 of the port "Chernomorsk" almost 340 meters long (with the placement of two piers 290 m long). The project provides for the investing-in-ukraine/business-opportunities/" rel="dofollow">possibility to receive Panamax-type vessels.

AMPU should conduct dredging works, increasing the depth to 15 m. The administration of the seaports has already completed 67% of the work.
