The annual list of the best universities in Europe and Central Asia for 2022 (QS Emerging Europe and Central Asia University Rankings 2022) has been published, including 450 best higher education institutions. The rating was compiled by the global research and consulting center QS Quacquarelli Symonds.
“Development of higher education is one of the priority areas of activity of the Ukraine Ministry of education and science. Improving the quality of educational services, developing academic mobility, and increasing funding for research at universities help stimulate higher education institutions’ work. The best of Ukraine's higher education institutions are ranked internationally, gaining even more opportunities to share experiences with partners, attract foreign students and use advanced technologies," said minister of education and science, Serhii Shkarlet.
Ben Sauter, director of the QS Quacquarelli Symonds, said that the number of Ukrainian higher education institutions among the best in Eastern Europe and Central Asia had risen to 41, an absolute record in history of this regional ranking.
Ukrainian institutions of higher education, which were included in the list of the 100 best:
- Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv — 35th place;
- The National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute — 63rd place;
- V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University — 69th place.
Compared to 2021, the number of higher education institutions in Ukraine in the regional ranking increased from 25 to 41.
