The head of the European Commission made a statement on a new aid package for Ukraine. According to the statement, Lein was considering how to help Ukraine overcome the consequences of Russian aggression against energy sources. As a result, it was decided to transfer solar panels to Ukraine. Their number will reach 5.700 pieces, which should cover at least 11 thousand m² of roofs. Kyiv will have to place solar panels on the country's public buildings: schools, hospitals, and rescue units.
Also, Ursula von der Leyen reported that a supplier of solar power to Ukraine has already been found. The largest Italian energy company ENEL provides all 5.700 systems to the European Commission. The first batch of solar panels will be in Ukraine this spring. The remaining assistance package will be brought to Ukraine by the end of the summer.
"Russia is deliberately attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure. We are working with Ukraine to restore the electricity supply, repairing and restoring damaged infrastructure, and develop renewable energy. Therefore, Ukraine will be able to rely on clean electricity produced at home," says the video published on Twitter.
Recall that Ursula von der Leye was in Ukraine's capital a month ago. Then she announced a quick solution to the energy issue in Ukraine.
