The other day, a telephone conversation took place between US president Joe Biden and Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Following the dialogue, the White House issued a statement:
"President Biden informed president Zelenskyy that the United States intends to provide the Ukrainian government with $500 million in direct budgetary assistance," the statement said.
In turn, the president's office transmitted information that during the conversation, Zelenskyy told Biden about the situation at the front, the atrocities and looting by the occupiers, the successes of our army, and plans for further struggle. The topic of strengthening the defensive and offensive capabilities of Ukraine against the enemy on our territory was raised.
A separate topic was a new package of sanctions, which the United States is already ready to implement against Russian aggression.
The president of Ukraine also thanked the United States for its constant and reliable support and $1 billion in humanitarian aid and a separate $500 million in direct support.
