Foreign Business in Ukraine: “Crimea is Ukraine”

Canadian brand "Saint Javelin" launched production of the merch collection "Crimea is Ukraine" and sells "tickets" to "Crimea Beach Party" in Simferopol in 2023

In 2022, Canadian friends Christian Boris and Chris Shaw created the Saint Javelin meme – they painted the Virgin Mary holding a Javelin, which the USA provided to Ukraine to protect from the military invasion of Russia. To help Ukraine, they decided to monetise the meme and launched the production of stickers, clothes and other merch. Over the past year, the business's income was about $2.5 million.

In 2023, the brand continued to be on our side and launched the Crimea Beach Party collection of clothes, household stuff etc. It continues the main — humorous link of the company. The team began to develop a collection for the Independence Day of Ukraine 2023, thinking about where Ukrainians can celebrate the victory. Later, the project jokingly announced the sale of tickets for the Crimea Beach Party in Simferopol in 2023. People liked the idea, they bought 20.000 tickets for the "party".

Now the brand has released clothes for the party. However, the party is still only a joke, and the collection of clothes is real. People can buy Hawaiian t-shirts, tops, socks with burning Crimean bridge, shawls, caps, towels with inscriptions "Crimea is Ukraine" and military equipment. Themed stickers, posters and postcards complement the collection. Also, the collection's highlight was a poster with the commander-in-chief of the armed forces of Ukraine, Zaluzhny. Items from the collection can be purchased at $10 to $170.

An interesting fact is that foreign business not only continues to support Ukraine but cooperates with Ukrainian representatives. The brand Saint Javelin collaborated with Ukrainian artists and manufacturers from Kyiv, Odesa, Lviv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv.
