List of the most famous inventions:
- Helicopter. The helicopter inventor is the Kyiv aircraft designer Igor Sikorsky who emigrated to the United States. In 1931, he patented a design for a machine with two propellers — horizontal on the roof and vertical on the tail.
- CD. Few people know that the prototype of the CD in the late 1960s was invented by a graduate student of the Kyiv Institute of cybernetics Vyacheslav Petrov. Then the development was scientific and had nothing to do with music.
- A capsule that will save passengers during a plane crash. Vladimir Taranenko has developed a capsule that separates from the aircraft in a matter of seconds, which allows passengers to be saved.
- Vaccines against plague and cholera. Vladimir Khavkin created the first-ever vaccines against plague and cholera. He worked first in Odesa and later in Paris.
- A Liquid scalpel. Scientists from the National Aviation University and the Aerospace Institute have put a development called a liquid scalpel into practice. Thanks to this instrument, it became possible to remove a malignant tumor without damaging the vascular system.
- An Eco-car running on air. A resident of Kharkiv, 48-year-old Oleg Zbarsky, created a car that runs on compressed air. Although it drives at a speed of 40 km/h, such a car does not produce harmful emissions. With appropriate refinement, the technology can be widely used.
- A device for dealing with hurricanes. Viktor Bernatsky, associate professor of the Physics and technology faculty of Rivne state university, developed a unique structure to protect the coast from hurricanes. The device captures strong wind currents and reduces their force by counteracting oncoming airflow. The Ukrainian inventor received an award from the European scientific and industrial chamber.
- The rocket engine. A native of Zhytomyr, Sergei Korolev is a Soviet rocket and space technology designer and the founder of cosmonautics.
- The X-ray. The Ukrainian Ivan Pulyui, 14 years before the German Wilhelm Roentgen, designed a tube that later became the prototype of modern X-ray machines. Much deeper than Roentgen, he analyzed the nature and mechanisms of the appearance of rays and showed their essence with examples.
