A plane with 117,000 doses of Pfizer “Comirnaty” have landed in Ukraine

The batch of vaccine delivered as part of the COVAX initiative — cooperation for equitable access to vaccines against COVID-19 worldwide

On April 16, at 10 a.m., a plane with 117,000 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine have flown to Sikorski Airport. Within the COVAX methodology, vaccines will be distributed according to the priority needs of the Ukrainian population.

According to the chief sanitary physician Viktor Lyashko: "Today to Ukraine came 117 thousand doses of vaccine from COVID-19 produced by Pfizer-BioNTech. I remind you that the trade name of this vaccine is “Comirnaty”. We got it under the mechanism of COVAX and it is only the first batch.

The “Comirnaty” vaccine vaccination will start on April 18 from the Kyiv region. From April 19 all over Ukraine”.

Vaccination of “Comirnaty” will start with the residents of the old people’s homes and the staff, then employees of state emergency services and border guards.

Each region will receive 1,170 doses of vaccine, as well as fluids, syringes and boxes for the transport of vaccines and the disposal of medical waste.

The distribution of vaccines will be as follows: 1,170 doses in each area.
