The press service of the Vatican reports that Pope Francis sent to Kyiv cardinal Matteo Maria Zuppi, archbishop of Bologna and head of the Italian Bishops' Conference. The cardinal's stay is scheduled for June 5-6.
It is reported that the purpose of this visit is "to listen deeply to the Ukrainian authorities about possible ways to achieve a just peace and to support humane gestures that contribute to easing tensions."
