The Meeting of Zelenskyy and Pope Francis

On May 13, in the Vatican were raised the topics of peace in Ukraine and an end of the bloodshed

On Saturday, Volodymyr Zelenskyy paid an official visit to Rome. The president of Ukraine met with Pope Francis, where he spoke about the situation in the country. The head of Ukraine spoke about Russia's crimes against citizens of another country. In particular, the issue of the illegal deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia was raised. The president invited the Pontiff to join the solution to the problem created by the Russian occupiers.

Recall that Rome recently reported on participation in the peacekeeping mission regarding Russia's war against Ukraine. Zelenskyy also made a statement in this regard. He understands that all allied countries can offer their options for the situation. But Ukraine will not give up its territory to the Russian aggressor for the sake of ending the war.

At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian state presented his Formula for Peace to the Pope. The formula consists of 10 points, which will help to resolve the crisis related to the Russian war. Earlier, Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented it at the G20 meeting. The president of Ukraine wants to attract as many countries as possible. The head of Ukraine is interested in Rome joining in the promotion of the plan, especially in the field of food security, the return of justice, and the release of Ukrainian prisoners and deportees.

"As the war continues on the territory of Ukraine, the peace plan can only be Ukrainian," says Zelenskyy.

At the end of the official conversation with the Pontiff, the president asked the Pope to condemn the Russian military invasion of Ukraine.
