Antony Blinken Congratulated Moldova With Independence Day

On the 32nd anniversary of Moldova's independence, the secretary thanked the Republic for its unwavering support of Ukraine

On August 28, Independence Day is celebrated in beautiful, fertile and colourful Moldova. 32 years ago, Moldova broke the chains with which the Soviet Union chained it to itself. The US foreign secretary Anthony Blinken congratulated the state on this sacred event.

"On behalf of the United States of America, I heartily congratulate Moldova and its people on the 32nd anniversary of independence from the Soviet Union. We are also grateful to Moldova for the unwavering support of its neighbour, Ukraine, in overcoming the consequences of Russia's aggressive war, and we appreciate the efforts of the Moldovan people to take in hundreds of thousands of refugees," Antony Blinken.

The minister stressed the belief in partnership with Moldova and Moldova's integration into the European Union.

We remind you that August 24 was Ukraine's Independence Day. And president Maia Sandu touchingly congratulated Ukraine.
