This was disclosed by the press service of Sentinel Boats and the Ambassador of Ukraine to Australia, Vasyl Myroshnychenko, following an inspection of the boats in Hobart.
Myroshnychenko highlighted the innovation and craftsmanship of the Tasmanian company, Sentinel, noting the importance of these boats in Australia's latest aid package to Ukraine. The 830R model is renowned for its speed and maneuverability, making it suitable for a variety of missions, from river patrols in Ukraine’s challenging waterways to maritime operations.
These boats, known for their durability and minimal maintenance requirements, are being constructed at Sentinel's Hobart workshop, with details on the number of boats and the exact delivery timeline yet undisclosed. According to the manufacturer, these boats will serve the Ukrainian forces for decades without needing replacements, thanks to their robust construction.
This aid package is part of a broader international effort to support Ukraine amidst its ongoing conflict. Just recently, the United States also announced forthcoming military aid packages aimed at bolstering Ukraine's defense capabilities.
