On 30 August, the occupiers shelled the centre of Kharkiv. Heavy warheads were released from artillery systems in the morning, when the city’s residents were either gathering or on their way to work. Head of the Kharkiv regional state administration Oleh Synehubov reported the fall of 8 deadly shells. It is known about hits in kindergartens, parks, and places for recreation.
Neighbouring locations were also partially destroyed: private and high-rise buildings. At the moment, five people are known to have died due to the morning actions of Russian soldiers. Seven more were wounded. Emergency services are dismantling the rubble and assisting the wounded. As long as rescue operations continue, there is a risk that the number of casualties will increase.
