Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine is a joint military, financial, economic and political project of more than 20 EU member states. The unprecedented measures being taken to help Ukraine are taking EU strength and cooperation to a new level.
On December 2, Josep Borrell visited the EUMAM base in Poland, where 1.100 Ukrainian soldiers are currently undergoing military training. As the head of European diplomacy noted, Ukraine can count not only on training its soldiers but also €16 million on "lethal equipment for training purposes."
"The Ukrainian army is one of the best in the world. They have proven to be. Ukraine is resisting, fighting off Russian aggression, which is trying to cruelly push the country into darkness and cold. Humbled by the courageous soldiers and their will to defend their people," Josep Borrell said during his visit to the Ukrainian soldiers' education centre.
As Borrell noted, the European Union and Ukraine flags consist of the same colours — "because we have a common future." The politician thanked Poland for her and her army's efforts to implement and develop EUMAM.
"Слава Україні!" Borrell added.
