Britain to Strengthen Ukraine’s Air Defense with Multi-Purpose Missiles

The United Kingdom has committed to supplying Ukraine with 650 light multi-purpose missiles valued at £162 million ($213.13 million) to enhance Ukraine’s defense against Russian drones and missile strikes

The new defense aid package was announced during British Defense Secretary John Healy's participation in the Contact Group on Defense of Ukraine meeting, held at Ramstein Air Base in Germany. Healy emphasized, “This new commitment will give an important boost to Ukraine’s air defense.”

The missiles, produced by Thales Group, have a range exceeding 6 kilometers and can be launched from various platforms—on land, sea, and air. The first batch of these missiles is expected to be delivered to Ukraine by the end of 2024, bolstering its ability to defend against Russian aerial assaults.
