Bulgaria is Open for Ukrainian Tourists

Bulgaria, which remained closed to tourists from Ukraine since October 30, 2021, reopened its borders to all Ukrainians from December 20

This became possible after the Bulgarian authorities attributed Ukraine to the orange zone.

Conditions of entry to Bulgaria for tourists from Ukraine:

  • A certificate of vaccination against COVID-19 (all vaccines available in Ukraine are recognized);
  • Or certificate of disease transfer;
  • Or a new negative coronavirus test result.

Individuals who do not present any documents on COVID-19 are quarantined for ten days. PCR for COVID-19 or rapid antigen test can be done no earlier than 72 hours after arrival in the country. 

Children under 12 years old are allowed to enter the territory of Bulgaria without providing documents for COVID-19.

Persons traveling in transit through the territory of the Republic of Bulgaria are allowed to enter the country without the need to submit documents on COVID-19, in cases where immediate departure from the territory of the country can be guaranteed.

At the same time, some quarantine restrictions are still in force on the territory of Bulgaria. In particular, on October 21, 2021, the country introduced the requirement for a green certificate for visitors to public places:

  • Restaurants and cafes;
  • Entertainment facilities;
  • Cinemas;
  • Theaters;
  • Gyms and gyms;
  • Retail facilities with an area of ​​more than 300 square meters.

The requirement to provide a green certificate will not apply to visits to grocery stores, pharmacies, banking institutions, and travel by public transport.
