On June 28, the government of Bulgaria adopted resolutions on the reception and accommodation of Ukrainian refugees at the sites of private hotels and hotels registered in the National tourist register. According to the decree, hoteliers will receive ≈ $100 daily to maintain 1 Ukrainian. At the same time, Ukrainians seeking temporary protection will receive shelter in refugee settlements.
In order to optimise the stay of refugees in the buffer zone, the government called on several ministers within 30 days to develop a plan for integrating Ukrainians into the overall structure of Bulgaria's migration policy.
As of the end of June, more than 51.600 Ukrainians found shelter in Bulgaria. At the beginning of 2022, more than 1.27 million Ukrainians came to Bulgaria, but they could not stay there because Bulgaria wasn't prepared to receive such a vast number of people.
