Canada has announced a humanitarian aid package of $5.7 million to Ukraine, with a primary focus on supporting children affected by the ongoing conflict. This initiative was revealed by Canada's Minister of International Development, Ahmed Hussen, during a briefing.
The funds will be allocated through various international organizations, including UNICEF, the United Kingdom's International Medical Corps, and Save the Children (a Canadian organization). Specifically, $3.5 million will go to the International Medical Corps, $2 million to Save the Children, and $200,000 to the United Nations Office for Humanitarian Affairs, aimed at supporting their humanitarian missions in Ukraine.
This targeted aid underscores Canada's commitment to helping Ukrainian children during these challenging times. Ukrainian Ombudsman Dmytro Lubinets expressed his gratitude for the dedicated program and budget directed at supporting Ukrainian children, facilitated through UNICEF. This collaboration is part of ongoing efforts between Ukraine and Canada to enhance financial stability and implement critical reforms amidst the ongoing conflict.
