Cancellation for Cargo Transit Through Ukraine to Poland

Joint project for the modernization of the railway infrastructure on the Ukraine-Poland border to increase capacity and turnover

On February 10, the national railway carrier of Ukraine, Ukrzaliznytsia, opened the investing-in-ukraine/service-for-investors/logistics-providers/" rel="dofollow">logistics space between the bordering states.

Over the past months, the leadership of the Ukrainian and Polish railways has been negotiating the modernization of the Izov-Grubeshev checkpoint on the side of the Polish state.

As a result of work to improve the quality of receiving goods from Ukraine, the volume of cargo exchange between states increased to 10 trains per day. Prior to the modernization, the maximum number of trains per day was much lower since a more significant number provoked traffic jams and delayed logistics traffic.

At the same time, Ukrzaliznytsia is implementing its plan to increase the capacity and quality of the entire railway track in the direction of Poland. The largest project in the issue of railway infrastructure Ukraine-Poland is the electrification of the direction Kovel — Izov — the border of Ukraine. Completion of the project is scheduled for the end of 2022. In turn, Ukrzaliznytsia expects Poland to electrify a 1,5 km section from the border of Ukraine to Polish Hrubeshev.
