5 Ukrainian national parks for winter holidays

The state agency for tourism development has selected Ukraine’s national parks for the winter weekend. It is possible to breathe fresh air in the parks, admire fantastic winter views, find traces of wild animals in the snow, and even observe birds.

Five national parks of Ukraine for active recreation:

  • Sinevir national natural park, Zakarpattia region;
  • Galician national natural park, Ivano-Frankivsk region;
  • Holy Mountains national natural park, Donetsk region;
  • National natural park Tuzla Limans, Odesa region;
  • National nature park Podolskye tottry, Khmelnytsky region.

The national natural park Sinevir is located in the Zakarpattia region. Guests can admire picturesque mountains and landscapes see the lake and waterfall White Beast. Besides The Sea Eye, as poetically called Lake Sinevir, you can visit the Center for rehabilitation of bears, where animals are treated after abuse in private zoos and circuses. Also, visit the museum Old Village and several interesting places in Kolochava, visit the center of the rehabilitation of predatory birds Sapsan, and drink water from the mineral spring.

Galician national nature park in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. The park has unique beech forests with karst rocks and caves, quiet terrain, and frozen waters. The territory has a Wildlife rehabilitation center.

National nature park Holy Mountains. The natural pearl reserve — cave temples with the Mykolaiv church, built in XVII on the chalk rock. This unique building reproduces in stone traditions of wooden folk architecture and is an original work of Ukrainian baroque.

The national nature park Tuzla Limans in the Odesa region is Mecca for bird-watching lovers, located near the Black sea. It is home to a Red-breasted Goose (Branta ruficollis) that can only be seen here in Ukraine.

The national nature park Podolsky Tovtry is located in the Khmelnytsky region. Here you can enjoy the beauty of nature, the picturesque hills from which Ukrainian Carpathians begin. In Europe, there are no analogs to the Podolsky Tovtry, and only the United Kingdom and the United States have rocky ranges similar in geological structure. The tourists are attracted not only by spectacular views but also by local springs with life-giving water and picturesque Bakota with an ancient rock monastery. In winter, guests can be walking, horseback riding, and skiing.
