Chinese media resource Global Times reports that China's Special Envoy for Eurasian Affairs Li Hui is heading to Ukraine for "learning, communicating on demands and opinions."
Notably, the Global Times aligns with Beijing's official rhetoric and calls the war a conflict. In addition to Ukraine and Li Hui plans to visit Poland, France, Germany and Russia. The special representative's tour signals China's intention to settle the "conflict", but China seems to share the view that the war can be ended by forcing Ukraine to surrender:
"But they noted that China alone cannot solve the crisis, especially considering the US-led West's enhanced military support for Ukraine and the tough attitudes of Ukraine and Russia," Global Times.
Notably, the details of the telephone conversation between Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Xi Jinping are still unknown, and China still insists on peace on the terms of Ukraine's defeat.
