On 7 December, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced the agreement on nine sanctions against the aggressor country. Within a set of restrictions, almost 200 people connected with the Russian Federation or having citizenship of this country will be included in the blocklist. Also, the 9-package of sanctions will block the work of 3 Russian banks, affecting the Kremlin's economic sphere. Recall that early Europe has already blocked more than 5 banks of the aggressor country. Among them: are the Central Bank, Sberbank, Alfa Bank, Sovkombank, and others.
Also, Ursula von der Leyen said that the possibility of excluding the other 4 propaganda TV channels from the air will be considered. The last item for new sanctions was export restrictions. They should affect the goods that the Russian Federation can use both for ordinary life and the continuation of the manufacture of weapons for war. Such restrictions make it difficult for the aggressor to manufacture and purchase unmanned aerial vehicles. In particular, Moscow will not be able to contact potential suppliers of drones (for example, Iran). Energy and mining will also fall under export restrictions.
The Council of the European Union will consider and vote on this "punishment" for armed aggression against Ukraine next week.
