Yuriy Vitrenko, chairman of the board of the National oil and gas company of Ukraine Naftogaz, Ukraine has stopped the operation of the oil refining sector. The forced measure was the introduction due to continuous Russian shelling and the destruction of specialized Ukrainian infrastructure.
"Unfortunately, these strikes actually started from the first days of the war… All oil refining in Ukraine is now not working due to massive repeated attacks by the aggressor, and it is difficult to provide logistics for oil products on the Ukrainian market, which leads to their shortage," Vitrenko.
However, Naftogaz has a plan to resume operations.
"When we get full control and network of gas stations when the problem with logistics is solved, and we can get a resource to create a national reserve of petroleum products, then Naftogaz will be able to join in solving problems in the fuel market and ensure stability, transparency, fairness in this market," the head of Naftogaz.
