The state energy generating company Energoatom has taken on the integration of a project to create a network of high-speed charging stations for electric vehicles. The network will include 120 charging stations in Ukraine: 40 high-power stations for densely populated centres and 80 stations of 60 kW for the main highways of Ukraine. According to Energoatom's plan, the project will be implemented within 2 years.
"Due to the military aggression of Russia and the crisis provoked by it, the fuel market is experiencing a rapid increase in demand for electric vehicles. In Ukraine today, together with "hybrids", the number of electrified cars is more than 100.000. The creation of a national infrastructure for charging stations will stimulate not only the spread of private electric transport but also the development of new services using electric vehicles, for example, in the field of delivery and logistics," minister of energy Herman Galushchenko.
Moreover, the transition to electric vehicles reduces the dependence of Ukrainian drivers on fossil fuels and improves the environment.
