Creation of a Fund for Financing “Leopard” Repair

Ukraine, Poland and Germany agreed on the creation of a plant for the repair of tanks damaged on the military fronts of Ukraine

On April 21, at the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group platform in Ramstein, Ukraine, Poland and Germany signed an agreement on creating a repair centre to work with Leopards after the battles in Ukraine. According to German defence minister Boris Pistorius, the site's launch is planned for the end of May.

Most likely, the repair centre will be located at the facilities of the defence enterprise Bumar-Labedy in Poland. The minister of national defence of Poland, Mariusz Blaszczak, said that Bumar personnel have practical experience with Leopard tanks and, accordingly, will provide first-class service to the equipment, which will have to be repaired in a critically short time and sent back to the war.

Sponsorship of this cooperative can cost about $384 million per year. For this purpose, the European states agreed to create a specialized fund.
