Czechia Banned Russian Sportsmen

Representatives of the aggressor country will no longer be able to participate in competitions in the Czech Republic

On June 28, at a meeting of the cabinet of ministers of Chezia, politicians adopted several decisions regarding security, internal affairs and international relations of the state.

In particular, the cabinet of ministers approved the proposal of the minister of education, youth and sport about Russian athletes in Chezia. From now on, individual Russian athletes and teams do not have the right to cross the border of Chezia to participate in sports competitions. As well as Czech athletes and teams will not take part in sport competitions on the territory of the aggressor country.

The ministers stressed that this step was initiated by domestic sport unions, which found support in the National sports agency of Chezia.

Many will say that sport is apolitical. But Ukrainian athletes who were killed or maimed in the war are evidence to the contrary. On the cover, you see 10-year-old gymnast Olexandra Pascal. She has been trained in gymnastics since the age of 3. And in March 2022, the girl was left without a leg during a Russian missile attack on the hometown of Olexandra Zatoka (Odesa region).
