Ukraine’s external trade in dairy products increased in March 2026, but the negative balance continued to widen. Imports outpaced exports, adding pressure to the market.
Total dairy trade reached 57.63 million USD, with imports at 32.5 million USD and exports at 25.1 million USD. The negative balance deepened to minus 7.4 million USD.
The structure of exports shifted, with the share of cheeses rising to 24%.
On the import side, the share of dairy whey increased to 5.6%, highlighting changing demand within the category.
The figures point to a widening gap between domestic supply and consumption needs, which may require additional support for local producers and a closer watch on price dynamics in the months ahead.
