In an interview with the German news portal ZDF, Boris Pistorius shared his opinion on the situation in the war. When asked by a journalist about whether we should expect solid events in 2023, the politician replied:
"It is very likely that this will be a decisive year, now decisive months," Boris Pistorius.
A clear proof that Germany believes in the victory of Ukraine are the military aid pacts that the state regularly sends to reinforce the Armed Forces of our country: tanks, IRIS-T and shells, radar systems and other equipment. Germany recently announced a €2.7 billion war and defence assistance.
"We are now the second strongest supporter of Ukraine after the United States," Boris Pistorius.
"I bet on a big offensive, a counter offensive — and everything else will fall into place."
Perhaps, due to the explosion of the Kakhovka dam, the Ukrainian counter-offensive went a little off plan. However, the successes of our army are great: we have begun to recapture the settlements that have been under Russian occupation since 2014.
